This is my first Blog. With everything there is a first. I want to write about things that I am passionate about, things that inspire me, things that interest and intrigue me. As you read my Blog I hope you will share my passion and get a taste of my visions and experience. And whether you agree or disagree with me, please give me your honest feedback and constructive criticism.

First and foremost I am an artist. I experiment with different media in art. I am not too afraid to take risks, even if I hit walls from time to time, or fall flat on my face. My ability to get back on my feet after falling is my strength; my adherence to my principles at times give others the impression that I am stubborn, it could be my weakness, or strength, depending on the perspective. It is evident that I am the big critic of myself, and I do have a big ego. I am a dreamer, an explorer, and a survivor.

So far this post looks a bit over serious. Maybe this is not the sort of material I want to publish. So perhaps this is a good time to tell my readers that I like having fun. The topics for my Blog will be honest, truthful, and  fun. I can laugh at myself. I do tend to get serious about things that are important to me.  How do I have fun? Ummm … I like music, love going to movies, worship artists and creative people. I love dancing and free movement; freedom is the essence – free to live, free to create, to express oneself – though I remind myself that freedom should not be taken for granted.

I believe in learning. One of my fear is that I am not a ‘good enough’ writer. I loved writing when I was a child. When my first grade teacher gave me a word and asked me to compose one sentence I usually ended up with three to four lines, which became more like a short paragraph. When I was six or seven years old I told my dad that I felt uncomfortable if I did not get to speak my mind. Now often I worry that I do not have anything to say. So I suppose Blogging will be a good practice for me. I want to develop the habit of organizing my thoughts too, not just speak at random, which I seem to be doing now.

Something interesting to tell about myself, before I lose interest of my readers – I have always aspired to become an artist: I love drawing, painting, getting creative, I have an inexhaustible imagination.  I am a children’s book author, I had my first storybook published four years ago, now working on my second book and hope that I will complete the project this year. I am a designer, first started designing clothing in the 80s, then moved on to become a fashion buyer, I traveled the world to buy clothing for prestigious specialty stores. By the late 90s I traveled extensively in so much that I got burned-out, left my hometown in Hong Kong and relocated to the United States.

Taking a break in my life had given me the opportunity to rethink my life, and recuperate my life force. I spent twenty months living in Honolulu before I moved to California. There have been many new challenges since I started making a new home for myself in the Bay Area. I’d discovered a new objective: to make a living doing something that I love, and love doing the thing that I do to make a living. A new chapter in my life begins…
